Frozen cherries work well for sauces because they are already pitted
and taste great year-round, but you can certainly use fresh cherries too!
Recipes like this are also a great way to use up cherries
if you have trees that are producing too many.

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 5 minutes

Total Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 16 oz. frozen, pitted cherries
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp. fresh lemon juice

Preparation:

Preparation:

  1. Bring cherries, sugar and water to a boil in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, stirring often.
  2. Stir 1 tbsp. lemon juice and cornstarch together in a small bowl until smooth. Whisk into the boiling cherry mixture.
  3. Return to a boil, stirring constantly. You don't want this sauce to scorch on the bottom.
  4. Cook until the liquid has thickened, which should take about 1 more minute.
  5. Remove the pot from the heat and taste. You can also add a little extra sugar or lemon juice if needed at this point, depending on your personal preference.
  6. Allow the sauce to cool to room temperature and serve over ice cream or cheesecake.
Once The biscuit base is room temperature and you have placed the cheese cream on top
place in the fridge untill ready to serve.

When Ready to serve cut a slice and spoon the
 cherry sauce on top, enjoy
